The purpose of the Fund Raising Committee is to organize events to raise money for the Library Commons and to raise awareness of the Commons project. If you would like to chip in and help with any of our events, contact the Fund Raising Committee at frvpl11@gmail.com.
After the 5-day Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) instituted by PG&E in 2019, we realized that as a community hub we needed to do everything in our power to make sure the Library and the Commons could stay open when we had our next outage. We applied to the Community Foundation of Mendocino County for a Community Resiliency and Disaster Preparedness Grant, which they graciously awarded. The Community Foundation then put us in touch with the United Way of the Wine Country, who funded most of the remainder of the project. The WARM foundation and several community members helped us complete the project. We are grateful to you all for your support and look forward to keeping our doors open during the next emergency.
